Slovenia: STKP: Part 1

STKP stands for Slovenian Mountain Bike Route and with Nada we decided to cycle part of it during this so called Potato holidays. The whole route consists of 111 checkpoints and is around 1800 kilometres long with 50000 ascend meters.

Since the day starts in the morning I first conquered Šmarna gora with Joško, Zoki an Grega. After the good start (Garmin Connect) of the day we all went to work and after it I cycled (Garmin Connect) to Ljubljana train station, where I met with Nada. Our chosen train didn't want to accept bicycles so we waited an hour for another one, so we arrived in Maribor already in the dark. We logged our first checkpoint there (82 - Hiša stare trte v Mariboru / The old vine house in Maribor) and started ascending to Pohorje, where managers of the Mariborska koča mountain hut were waiting for us. We arrived at 10:30 p.m., logged our 2nd STKP point (83 - Mariborska koča / Mariborska koča mountain hut) and went to bed.
