Bosnia and Herzegovina / Serbia / Macedonia: Vacation time, Day 4: Long way to Skopje

Time for annual leave has come and with Nada we decided to have a motorbike trip, starting in Slovenia and ending on Crete in Greece. On our way we decided to spend some time with our friends in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and in Greece.

On the 4th day Nada had to take care of some things in Tuzla and then we had to move on. Our destination was Skopje and since it was a long way, we stopped 3 times on the way. Our stops:

Previous days of our vacation: Day 3Day 2Day 1.

Fighters Workers Battalion Monument on Kadinjača testifies about the days of the November 1941, when members of the Workers Battalion of Užice Partisan Detachment, which was commanded by Andrija Đurović, provided fierce resistance to far superior German enemy, who at that time carried out offensive against the liberated territory "Republic of Užice".

Užice lies at 411 metres above sea level, on both sides of the river Đetinja.

Ovčar-Kablar Gorge (Ovčarsko-kablarska klisura) is a gorge in the western Serbia, part of the composite valley of the West Morava river. With over 30 monasteries built in the gorge since the 14th century, it is known as the "Serbian Mount Athos". We visited Annunciation (Blagoveštenje) monastery.

Annunciation (Blagoveštenje) is one of the oldest remaining monasteries, originally from the medieval period of the Nemanjić dynasty.

"Saint John the Baptist" (Jovanje) monastery is on the peninsula in the West Morava's meander, on the Čačak - Ovčar Banja road.
